Leah Henriquez Ready
Enjoy art instruction from an artist
Leah Henriquez Ready comes from a family of artists, with a jeweler father and a fiber-and-beadwork artist mother. Art shows have been a way of life for Leah; first at her parents' sides, and now as an artist in her own right. Leah creates nativities, folk figures, and animals of embroidery and beadwork. She also weaves necklaces, bracelets, pins, and earrings of beads and fiber art.
Locally, Leah's work can be seen at the New Mexico Arts and Crafts Fair, the Contemporary Spanish Market in Santa Fe, the Southwest Art Festival, and the Nob Hill Gallery. Leah’s work gets around—it’s appeared at the Spanish Winter Market at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, and the “Fantastic Beads” and “Fantastic Fibers” shows at the Yeiser Art Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Leah’s work was chosen for the “Gleaming Treasures” show at Embellishment for 6 straight years. Beadwork magazine selected one of her beaded dolls, “Desert Diva,” for its traveling exhibit, The Beaded Cloth. Leah created a beaded square for the Bead Quilt Project in honor of the memory of those lost on 9-11-2001.
In addition to her popular classes at Continuing Ed, “Beaded Earring Workshop” and “Polyform Bead Techniques,” this energetic artist also teaches bead and fiber work nationally at the Spring Quilt Show, Bead and Button, Bead Expo, the Rocky Mountain Bead Bazaar, and locally at two bead stores.
Leah’s current classes may include:
| Crafts & Hobbies |
| Beaded Earring Workshop |
