Joseph Behrend


Joseph Behrend is the owner of One on One Fitness and the voice of the Lady Lobos on 610 AM. Joe’s background in personal training began during the exercise boom of the 80’s and 90’s. Joe observed people in the gyms start exercise programs only to quit after a few months, and he knew he could help them. He combined his own enthusiasm for the benefits of weight training with his ability to motivate people to succeed.

Joe has been with UNM Continuing Education for ten years, teaching Weight Lifting For Women and Weight Lifting For Seniors. Joe says the most gratifying thing about sharing his knowledge is seeing people stick with a program. “I don’t
want people to take my five-week course and then stop working out. My goal is to see people over and over.”
Joe is a firm believer in achieving better health, a better self-image, and longer life through weight training.
